Rooted quilt block

My upcoming free pattern for the upcoming Imprint collection has this above block as the focal point of the quilt. I named it Rooted block. I really love that tribal, ethnic look and would love to see your version of it...please feel free to use the hashtag #rootedblock on the social media, and I will be able to see it :)
Here are two pics of it, while testing the block with the Maker fabrics:

  1. What a great block (and this is one of the nicest uses of that fabric line I've seen)!

  2. Do you cut the squares 2.5" vs the finished square is 2.5"? Could I divide all dimensions by 2 to get a 10.75" block?

  3. thank you SOOOO much for posting this straight forward example! I have been thinking about making a native American themed quilt, and this is what I will use to go forward with that goal!!!
