Toscana vacation

It's been a while since I took some time to post about travel, but this summer we had such an amazing time in Italy, and posting about some great places to visit is always good, even as a reminder to myself;)

Tuscany is always a dream to visit and this time we took some time to explore few cities. We were staying at the Ligurian coast, at the small city called Castiglioncello.

We enjoyed the beach, especially the Quercetano Bay with it's rocky coast and transparent, clean water. 

Italian cities are greatly connected with railway and train can be a great transportation for reaching nearby cities. City of Pisa is only one hour away and Florence one and a half. 

The only thing that I wouldn't recommend if visiting amenities and cities is to choose a calmer period of the year, like spring or fall, as summer crowds and temperatures can really took you to desperation sometimes. Especially if traveling with smaller kids.

Of course, non of these crazy circumstances couldn't spoil our determination to enjoy some amazing sights and treasures, and I will just post pictures now and hopefully, when having more time, I will put more captions.

Italian kitchen is famous by it's delicious meals, and fresh produce is what is a guarantee for successful and amazing food creations.  There are many cities around immersed in beautiful Tuscan mountains and countryside, with beautiful vineyards and great restaurants, so it's very hard to make the wrong decision.

Summer 2017

It's always so hard to say goodbye to summer, as it's my favourite season and part of the year where we enjoy being in company of our family and friends, spending more time outside....

This year, we spent 2 amazing weeks at the Adriatic cost, in Croatia. It's actually the place from my childhood, where I used to spent all summers when I was little....It was so nice to see my kids being in a company of my friend's kids, having a wonderful time, making some memories and friends for life.

 

We made a one day trip to Trieste, Italy to see the city and explore a bit, and it was so fun!

Now it's already time to go back to school, but also to share a new fabric collection coming this Fall...can't wait!!! :)

Skopelos summer vacation 2013

It's always hard to place the wonderful moments spent somewhere in just one post and to choose the best pics that can describe them or give an idea of the unmemorable time spent there. But, will do my best:)



Thanks to my last year posts about Skopelos, I will here share just some of the very favourite pics from this year vacation, but you can always see them all in my flickr set from this year or browse through all the Skopelos pictures from this and past year.
Hopefully I will learn how to do the video editing in Premiere so that I can make a video clip too, gathering all the small clips I took this year. On my TO DO list!!!



But, while, I learn that, just for fun(and because kids laugh hard watching these) here are 2 short video clips from the Limnonari beach










Anyway, what I LOVE about Skopelos island is that it's not very crowded and very popular island (at least now) and it's perfect for families. I think that Skopelos gained the wast popularity after the Mamma mia film , but now, 5 years after and in the years of the global economic crisis (major visitors are Greeks), I think it's rather peaceful island again.



Almost on all the beaches on the island you can find the natural shadow spots. Pine trees are all over the island. The old city part is so beautiful, breathing history and my favourite bougainvilleas....love it!!!It's like a paradise coloured in  aqua, electric blue, hot pink and white shades!







So, you can enjoy the beaches, enjoy the cultural and historical part of the island, you can eat great food. And talking about the food, this year, we stumbled upon a fantastic restaurant in the center of the old city: Perivoli. What a magical place with the most magnificent garden with homegrown fruit, herbs and vegetables! The food was so delicious!!!A must!!!









For hose who love fishing and eating fish, it's a paradise!!!





















We are already thinking to maybe go again next year....it's a true paradise!
