Mikser 2013

MIKSER is the biggest regional festival of creativity, it is the multidisciplinary event, that combines a fair design, talent area, interdisciplinary educational conference, art shows and summer music festival. It's always nice to enjoy at least some of the events;)

Since last year, they made quite a difference with relocating the festival from the industrial setting of Žitomlin production facility to one of the oldest neighborhoods in Belgrade – Savamala. This marked a change in the program structure, as the festival is now being scattered over a number of locations, instead of just one.
And looking at my previous entries regarding Mikser, I just realized that was enabled to attend it, as I was very busy doing something more important (and can't wait to share more of it soonish)

Design mikser

From 24 to 29 May in Belgrade’s industrial zone of Dorcol, at the Žitomlin warehouse by the Danube river Cultural organisation Mikser for the first time organised MIKSER DESIGN EXPO, the new design event.


We've been there on Monday and Tuesday again and loved it(especially the kids). A fresh bit of design,re-design and recycled design and a wonderful occasion to chill out a bit with some friends and even to hang out with some people not seen for a long time...



My sister and her friends were engaged in creating the "stage" for the Erste bank.

There were so many interesting exhibitions and happenings in the city as there was the Belgrade Design week running.
I'll be able to show you soon some fresh designs I'm working on at the moment, some silk screen prints on linen:)Marta made her drawings too for that occasion.


Oh, and talking about linen, look what I made last week....I have tried to embroider some flowers on linen...well, exept those bullion roses that I'm familiar with making, those aren't so great...I have the yarn being unthreaded and clueless about how to make certain knots, but I still do like them:)

A bit of everything

I've been recently taking some photos of the beautiful apartment that a friend of mine addapted and transformed into a hostel.














The apartment is situated in the beautiful building with this gorgeous entrance-gate in the Art nouveaux style. The great thing is that it is placed in the center of the Belgrade , just under the Student's park and very close to my house,too;). I'm writing about this because my city will be the host for the upcoming Eurosong 2008 . So, for you living in Europe and interested in coming here for the festival, don't hesitate to contact someone from Yellow bed and ask if there are some beds available;). Very highly recommended, especially for the students!!!





Another big event this week in Belgrade was the Belgrade design week 2008. with so many great guests and events. Some other great exhibitions will be opened this week and can't wait to blog about them, as I'm taking part in one;)


As kids are gone to our getaway place in the country side, I will finally be able to finish my Japanese inspired outfits, that are turning very cute;).








And another one is in jersey fabrics, in shades of turquiose.
My granny was/is very busy preparing me some details....just too cute:o)
