Kaftan sewing

I got a few e-mails about the kids kaftan version that could be seen a lot in my last post. I know that the post was about our summer vacation in Greece, but apparently I was more interested in posting pics of my kids in theirs Indelible clothes, which is so truth-can't blame me for that :)









I took the advantage of the beautiful Greek scenery in order to get some nice pics that could inspire you more! So if you haven't tried my kaftan tutorial, you definitely have to!!! It's beginner friendly and sews very easy!! I did the kids version with the regular quilting poplin cotton, which is great for apparel sewing and the width of the fabric will work just fine for kids. The voile is even better, because of the drape and weight of the fabric, and for adults, it's a must because of the width of the fabric. For the kids version, I did the round-boat neck, instead of the V-neck, and was much easier to sew.Another interesting note-option about the tutorial: instead of making the button holes and drawstrings, you can apply one or two rows of shirring (with elastic thread)at the front and back of the kaftan. "Rock and Romance"

Rock 'n romance is a gorgeous fabric collection by Pat Bravo for Art Gallery fabrics. A few months ago, when I saw the collection preview, I knew I had to make something with it. It's been a long time, since I created a few garment pieces with some designer collection, but these prints were calling me:) I knew that I had to create tons of ruffles prior to sewing.
And I knew that I wanted to create some gaucho pants.
And yes, the matching dress too.
Or even a few.
















So, here it is, a small collection of fancy clothes featuring this beautiful fabric line. I enjoyed creating them so much, and I hope that those girls who will wear them (yes, I listed them for SALE on ETSY )will love them too. My daughters already choose theirs pieces and my lil' boy has a new rocking tie:)
I must say that the quality of the fabrics(100% PIMA cotton that is known for their soft hand and superior quality) is really wonderful. They are ideal for apparel sewing and they drape perfectly.

Cherry blossoms

As I watch the cherry blossoms wilting, I miss them already. That beautiful whitish to pinkish splendor is a feast for the eyes. And each year I imagine creating some beautiful romantic dresses for my girls and taking the pictures of them among the cherry trees in bloom. But, somehow I always find a lame excuse to postpone it for the next year. And the same thing happened this year, except that I eventually managed to take the pictures of them while the cherry blossoms were still beautiful and in full bloom, with "some"(still mine-handmade dresses) dresses. Yellow carpet

This post is all about yellow leaves in fall..... I found them pretty amazing- all the yellowish colours and shades that can be found on the trees and on the ground, just for a very short period of time, in contrast with the blue sunny sky.... can be so refreshing and inspiring during the fall season.











So, here is the mix of this season loveliness and my girls rocking the new skirts while enjoying the yellow carpet;)
