Ornaments
Sometime during the October, I had the idea of making some cute ornaments for Xmas, Easter and beyond.....home decorations that can embellish corners of my/your home. I've started with some sketches, playing with fonts and ready made font symbols, used already for so many purposes, but yet so cute and attractive, simply perfect if your time is not allowing you be more creative than that,LOL.
Of course, the process from the idea to the realization is so long when it is not depending on you...and when you are not sure which material will work best and what process and machines are involved in that- so I got my ornaments ready from the printing-house just a week ago:).
As I set up a little shop aside on etsy in October already, I have finally listed my ornaments, here and here.
The name, WannaBe, wasn't available, so it is Iwannabe, my second etsy shop,YAY!!!
WannaBE will also be the name of the shop that is about to open here in Belgrade, in Brace Jugovica 2a street, in the very beautiful central part of the city(the second street parallel with the main Knez Mihailova street, going down toward Dorcol), very soon and will be run and owned by one of my best friends, and will also have my stuff for sale;)
Can't wait!!!!
The best part of all is that it will be the first place in Belgrade where you will be able to find some fantastic US designer fabrics as well, which means a lot to me-customs taxes and duties will be the history, at least I hope so!!!!
Kids are anciously waiting for the New Year eve, when Santa will visit them with some more presents(like those Xmas ones weren't enough) and the shool break will begun;).
I had the fashion fair this weekend and I'm working on editing the pics now, so will be back soon with some great stuff to show and tell;)
Have a wonderful week!!!

Christmas prep
There is something particularly interesting and great about Xmas time - in my family, we are celebrating Xmas twice-first the Catholic Xmas on 25 December and than the Orthodox Xmas on 7 January (after the old calendar). That is one of the advantages when you are married with someone having the different culture and customs(usages:)
I made a lot of the candy ones, as are the fastest to make and some of the balls, that can be used even as a pincushions after;)
Kids loved the moment of decorating the tree and Marta made some of the Xmas cards for her friends;)
Happy HOLIDAYS!!!!

City lights
Finally, all the custom orders are finished and shipped and I can dedicate some time for some ordinary stuff, like enjoying the weird weather with having the sky indecisive weather to send some rain or have some sun, decorating the house with kids, enjoying the pre-Christmas time, making some Xmas ornaments and presents and doing some pics just for fun......
More of them HERE

Bumped
....regarding the event held yesterday.
After 1 hour involved with arranging stuff and setting everything for the Eco take away fashion and some 30 minutes of fair's duration, we were forced to pack and leave:(...Why???Because owner of the place where the exhibition was held, just didn't like the idea of the exhibition's selling character.
I suppose that the title of the exhibition-TAKE AWAY fashion-just didn't work for him/her when agreed to place the exhibition there.....or perhaps he/she thought that we should be giving away the things we were working on....
After this happened, I was thinking how Nic was so right when saying: "the bazaar (there's a reason this word sounds like bizarre)"....in my native language it is BAZAR, so very similar, too.
I'm so sorry about all the trouble, especially for the curator of the event Kulturni front, that beside organizing the event, spend a lot of money on providing the info about this event...
And I was so proud about my ECO-paper(mulberry) clips.....but anyway the next "Take away fashion" will be held on December 27 in SKC gallery from 12-22h.

Clutch bag obssesion
or getting ready for the upcoming craft show
Well, you could certainly see the large amounts of fabric pieces cut into 2 different shapes, where 4+4 are making the clutch zipper bag.
I wanted to make some sort of a bag that could be small enough to be taken in case to carry the money and some important documents and yet can be big enough to be able to hold the keys, cell phone and you know, some other important stuff.... taken in hand or even hanged from the shoulder;)
I was hooked by the look of these, charming and innocent, but even with the fact that inserting a zipper was such a harmless thing to do:)
I followed the instructions given here and started with fabric byTanya Whelan, Ava Rose line....
I will not give you any explanation, as it would require a lot of time(that I currently don't have) and effort(regarding my English), so I took a lot of pics and I 'm sure that they all speak for themselves;)
Hope this is/was useful;)

Art from the top of Europe
Yesterday night, I went to see very interesting exhibition featuring 2 young fashion designers, RICKARD LINDQVIST (Sweden) and DANIEL PALILLO (Finland).
I love theirs work and I'm so happy that this week is full of interesting events here in Belgrade, always associated with the work of this 2 artists and you can read more about that here.
What is very interesting and so exciting for me is, that all the events will finish with the exhibition of our designers, and I'm taking place at the exhibition;)YAY!!!
As the theme is ECO fashion, I will try to make some cute zipper pouch bags with linen and some other cotton fabrics...can't wait to start( it 's been almost a week that I'm trying to find some time to start,LOL).
If you have any other idea that is not requiring a lot of time, I would like to hear;)
.......an update..............
Yesterday, on November 20, there was the big opening of the ECO CHIC - towards Sustainable Swedish Fashion , fashion design exhibition.
Eco Chic exhibition that is made by Swedish Institute starts its journey throughout the world in Belgrade and it is a perfect combination of art, design, ecology and social responsibility. If you haven’t asked yourself by now what is the link between your intention to purchase new clothing to replace the old and global pollution, then this is the right opportunity to broaden your horizons and at the same time be up to date with the fashion scene on “the top of Europe”.
This event is a good opportunity to become aware of the real meanings and connections between more and more popular (but also necessary in the present vocabulary) terms like eco design, sustainable development, green design, recycling, global warming, etc.
The event was held in best part of the Belgrade's center of the city, at Knez Mihailova street.
The windows of one of the biggest central city Malls(under interior reconstruction)were turned into a small fashion scene where some beautiful eco creations could/can be admired.
I mean how incredibly perfect is this jacket??????
I loved all the models and autors!!!!!
And how about these vintage style shoes????
Also the idea of placing the newspapers as a background is just awesome!!!There was a small speach at the opening of the exhibition about the textile indusrty and how it really ruins our environment, employ small children as a cheap labour etc, and there was one fact that really made me wonder....to produce one pair of the blue jeans, there are about 1200 litters of water required in the process......wow, how terrible is that???
I'm so anciosly waiting the next Saturday, to be able to dispaly some of the things I'm working on now.....thinking the ECO way.....
Fortunately, Eco fashion, besides engadging the natural fibres and materials in process of creating, can also mean produce small, original and handmade pieces, where no indusrty is empoyeed, and therefore can't harm the environment......this was such a relief for me, as besides preparing some linen pieces, I cut some very colourfull pieces of fabric, always cotton fabrics, of course, like the Melissa Averinos 's Sugar snap debut line
or Tanya Whelan 's Ava Rose line.....
making some of these;)
