Between the end of the school year and work, I did manage to snap some shoots here and there, and so I will randomly post them here....mainly flowers, delicious fruits and kids, the things I enjoy most these days:)

Like a piece of cake

When your kids don't like eating some lovely seasons fruits when are at home (they like to eat them when picking them up directly from the plants), you do your best to make them eat (because strangely you may feel like committing a crime if eating that precious, organic and full of vitamins fruit yourself).





So, making something yummy and tasty is a good step forward:)
Also, using simple ingredients is also a good way to achieve the goal. So, this is not a proper recipe for the strawberry and yogurt jelly cake, but more a suggestion how to prepare a simple, tasty, light summery cake, that your kids will eventually love:)



Using Dr Oetker gelatine sheets, just like suggested on the package(when dissolved in hot water and then cooled, it forms a jelly) you can obtain a very tasteful yogurt cream(of course with adding some sugar in the yogurt first and than adding the gelatin sheets previously dissolved in the water).
For the base of the cake, I used granulated biscuits mixed with some apricot juice( to obtain a solid mixture that can be used instead of the pastry). And for the top, just dissolve the gelatin into any clear juice(I used apple juice), and wait for about 30 min. (place it in the fridge) until it starts to jelly, so that you can place it on the top of the arranged fruit.



I am sorry if my English is sometimes giving me the hard time in giving you the proper explanations and recipes, even that I am hardly following any recipes and directions when cooking, as well as when sewing...I am always more visual person and like to use imagination, strongly liking to believe that I know what I am doing;)
So, I have tried to search on-line to provide some similar real recipe that can be eventually followed step by step and here are some versions and variations that can be useful:

2. Mango yogurt pudding cake
3. Berry and banana terrine

Strawberries and other summer treats

Summer fruit, especially different berries are one of the best things regarding summer diets and also always so inspiring for photographing, provoking with theirs amazing shapes and colours. Forest strawberries, one of my favourite kind of fruit is also always evoking some nice childhood memories like picking the strawberries and flowers on the different country side fields and forests...

Like strawberries and cream

I remember one of the fabric shops on ebay.uk where I bought some of the first designer fabrics, back to 2005. It still exists and have such a yummy name- Like strawberries and cream . That cute name influenced me a lot when it came to choose the name of my very own ebay shop-which doesn't exist anymore, of course, but it existed on ebay.it (italian ebay) for a few months in the early 2006.



Of course, I kept that name for my boutique label and for my blog and for my website (that is crying to be revamped and it is among my must do's for this year) and I really like it;)
Here can be found wider explanation of what it meant to me regarding my creations for kids.



So, last week, after trying to make some order in my closet full with some crafty goodies, I have found a bag full of plastic fruits, leaves etc and thought to use them for some hair clips . They are beautiful and can be such a cute detail for some party hair styles. Of course the name "like strawberries and cream" was the guideline and inspiration to do these hair lovelies and I can't wait to create some more of these yummy hair accents:)

Approaching the summer

Just a few days of spring remaining...and it is summer already!!!!!
living in the city , must say that summer isn't my favorite season, but I love enjoying the summer treats and summer vacation, of course;)






And finally, wearing summer dresses;)





You already know how much I love Barefoot roses fabrics by Tanya Whelan and before her new line will come out, I'm still into sewing a lot with Barefoot roses charming prints. As I'm so addicted to shoes as well, especially when they match the clothes I make, and I think I've managed to find and buy absolutely perfect match to some of her prints, my favourites, in pink and green;)



And I made a pair of cute hair clips to match too;)
