Twenty fabric collection

And finally, it's time to introduce you to my newest fabric collection with Art Gallery Fabrics called Twenty

When I start designing a collection, I always think about the story, or theme behind it. With this collection it was a bit different, as this was my 20th collection with Art Gallery fabrics and my idea was to gather a group of prints that would work nicely together as a group, but also individually, for different kinds of projects. So the only theme or story was cohesiveness and unified color story. I wanted to cover almost all the elements and principles of art from color, line, shape, form, value, texture, and space. So my aim was to have contrasting prints, but also very harmonious ones, to provide balance, variety, movement and rhythm, with a kind of minimalistic, almost basic designs, that would provide importance to the whole, to the collection as entity.

I was so inspired with this collection, as it has 20 designs printed on quilting cotton-that I created 2 new quilt patterns: Vibrato and Kelim

While I was making Vibrato quilt, my friend Barbara Opett created throw version of my Kelim pattern.

AGF created another amazing look book that contains many beautiful projects from different makers and I hope that you may find your favorite project to make.

Blithe

Art Gallery fabrics have just made the introduction to the newest, Fall collections and my Blithe should be available within the next couple of days.
With this collection, I have probably moved on from where I left my first, Indelible collection, changing the palette, making it more winterish and more cozy and comfort in a way. Maybe even a bit Holidays appropriate, as there are touches of metallics in a few prints.

I love how this quote explains and describes perfectly some prints:  “I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says 'Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.'” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

And the official description: "Nature’s landscape transitions in hues as snow kisses the forest with its white blanket. Creature change their attire while colors shift from warm golds to dazzling whites and misty blues.."

Those are just the strike offs, but can't wait to show you the real fabrics very soon ;)

Aurifil designer of the month

I am so flattered and happy to be featured on the Aurifill blog, as the designer of the month (September).

My Aurifil thread collections: Indelible and Voluminous are great match to my fabrics and you can find them in the craft and quilt shops. You can read more HERE about my Voluminous thread collection.

My task as the designer of the month was to design and make a pattern for the quilt block that was inspired by the color Blue. Be sure to download it!!!
Here's the collage created with my pics, including the blue hues that inspire me.

Be sure to hop to the awesome Pat Sloan's blog and enter your block version for the chance to win some thread!

Hope you can join,

Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City

2016 Spring Quilt Market was held in Salt Lake City (Utah) from 20-22 May. This was my 3rd Quilt Market and wonderful opportunity to introduce my next fabric collection - Pandalicious fabrics.

My preparations for the show started around mid. April, when I got my first set of strike offs and the preps weren't over until only a few hours before the show started... ( I was binding the quilts in the airplane and during the set up days).

It's funny and crazy to understand how many things in my life are organized just according to the show preps and to the show attendance. I am so grateful to my family that can understand this craziness and these better-sweet moments. Here are some set -up pics...

Despite the jet lag and feeling exhausted prior to show, I pretty much enjoyed everything about it: organization of the show, the city and above all the people. It's always such a joy to hug my AGF family and also some good friends from the industry.

It was such a joy to meet for the first time in real life my "partner in crime", Laura Scaramella that was so kind to help me with some garment sewing for my booth and made these beautiful dresses. Thank you so much Laura!!!

The rest of the things were made by me, and I was so pleased with how much I achieved with those small fabric pieces.

Trying to enjoy every bit of it, I always forget to take more pics, but here are some I have...(and will add some more later)..

I also had the amazing opportunity to chat with the amazing Pat Sloan and you can hear our conversation by visiting her creative talk network or by clicking HERE or HERE

Hope you enjoyed, xx
