Rainy day

rainy day

It is pretty gloomy these past few days/weeks here...they say that from tomorrow me may see some snow, which is somehow better than rain;)

kalemegdan Yesterday, while going to see the 45. Golden Pen BELGRADE - 10. International Biennial exhibition of ILLUSTRATIONS, held at Pavilion Cvijeta Zuzorić, Kalemegdan park , Belgrade, I had the chance to enjoy some incredible views of the nature during the rainy day. And while it was freezing and wet, and not so pleasant to stay outside, it was just something about the gloomy atmosphere or about that incredible smell of the pine trees all around, that somehow make me feel happy. Or maybe it was just the solely moment in my life, having the time to dedicate it to myself and to what I love (after the family-that don't counts, of course:) most-art.

The exhibition is great, one of those MUST SEE for sure, and I feel sorry that I didn't have time to make some illustrations lately, and therefore couldn't submit them for this exhibition. But I was delighted to see some great illustrations made by my friends and colleagues and from some foreign illustrators.
Here are some(sorry for the bad pics, but the light was terrible+glass reflections and I had my handy camera only)

Have a great and creative weekend, Katarina
PS if you will ask for my wellibobs, on the first picture, these are the Joules Fierenze wellies-LOVE them:))))

Tennis lessons and some birds

rakets

While ago, I blogged about Kalemegdan, a marvelous, large park very close to our house. Well, during this summer season, kids are having tennis lessons there, at the Kalemegdan tennis courts (you have to click on this link, as there are some brilliant pics taken from the air!!!)

Theirs couch is my friend's sister and they love everything about these lessons:)

To Marta, this is the 3rd year of practice and to Pablo just the first:)

marta and bianka

Bianka is still small for the game, but she love to pick the balls and somehow trying to help during the lesson.

For me, it was such a reveal the fact that the old walls of bricks surrounding the courts are making a perfect home for many sparrows and other small birds. So, I had an important task imposed by myself to photograph them, even that they were almost equivalent in shades with the brickie background, so it wasn't so easy to get the normal pics....but here are some...

This one is already better, but will keep on practicing:)))

Kalemegdan walk....

This post is about knowing a bit more about the city where I live and places I go. Today was one one the beautiful winter days, with a lot of sun, so we(me with my 3 kiddos) decided to go for a walk. We are very happy to live in the center of the
Belgrade city
and have very near us the beautiful park
Kalemegdan
.

We made a tour until my favourite point, the view of 2 rivers Sava and Danube "meeting" each other.

As the fortress Kalemegdan has a very long history, going back at least to the castrum of Roman times, it has some beautiful Roman ruins and amazing views. It is very large and has even the Zoo park within, even being situated in the center of the 2 million habitants city,LOL;)The Victor statue(behind my DD Marta) is the symbol of Belgrade.
