A bit of everything

I've been recently taking some photos of the beautiful apartment that a friend of mine addapted and transformed into a hostel.

The apartment is situated in the beautiful building with this gorgeous entrance-gate in the Art nouveaux style. The great thing is that it is placed in the center of the Belgrade , just under the Student's park and very close to my house, too;). I'm writing about this because my city will be the host for the upcoming Eurosong 2008 . So, for you living in Europe and interested in coming here for the festival, don't hesitate to contact someone from Yellow bed and ask if there are some beds available;). Very highly recommended, especially for the students!!!

Another big event this week in Belgrade was the Belgrade design week 2008. with so many great guests and events. Some other great exhibitions will be opened this week and can't wait to blog about them, as I'm taking part in one;)

As kids are gone to our getaway place in the country side, I will finally be able to finish my Japanese inspired outfits, that are turning very cute;).

And another one is in jersey fabrics, in shades of turquiose.
My granny was/is very busy preparing me some details....just too cute:o)

Booties and bibs

mosaicdetails from the beautiful Marcus Brothers "Bleeker street" print

Today I made some cute baby stuff for a friend .

booties

She is expecting the arrival of her 4th child, baby boy;), any day now....So I finally finished my handmade gift and sent it to her.

My granny knitted the booties with beautiful cotton yarn and I made the fabric/felt booties and a pair of bibs.I took the tutorial from Heather Bailey
's
blog and had so much fun!!!The only thing that I was worried about was the fact that I was creating something for a baby boy and not girl, meaning no flowers, no bows and no all colors allowed,LOL.
But anyway, the colors of the sea and sand is a perfect combo, either for girls and boys....I just love the combination and the Chestnut Hill fabrics by Joel Dewberry is always a good choice;)

The bibs are so easy to made, and these are my first ones ever.....and now I'm so sorry that I've never made any for my own kids:(...but well, can always be such a great gift for others;)

I also started my next project, summer dress in the same colorway;)

Beads, lace, dictionary and more

Well, the past few days were a sort of computer abstinence,LOL(checking from work and my sister doesn't count, right?).We changed some furniture in the house and therefore, we had to change to computer too (the old one just couldn't "fit" the new table anymore) that may sounds crazy...hehe. Actually, we had to replace to "normal" computer with the laptop one, as my minimalistic preferable style unfortunatelly influenced the computer style, too. Maybe I'm the only person in the whole world prefering the standard configured computer (including standard mouse and keyboard), but I suppose that I will get use to it;).
During these non computer days, I had much more time to give some creative ideas breakthrough...or let says craft madness moments.
And well, here are some results

I combined these newly made beads with some old ceramic ones, that I found at my granny's house and it was like discovery of the lost and forgotten treasure

I think that I will list it on etsy;)

I also made other 2 necklaces with some felt and fabric and one with lace etc.
I started the first one by cutting the fabric flowers...and than stiching it to the felt shape.

I liked the idea of the composition with some tick branches

And finally I made the necklace that was so long, that I decided to rather make 2 smaller ones:)
