A few new/old things

I went to my craft store on Saturday, which is not even close to some US craft stores full of different goodies, but sometimes, they get some new stuff, that is simply beautiful....like this amazing wooden Japanese button I found. It is large, 3 cm in diameter and very expensive, but I just had to buy it...and I already know how to use it, but will definitely take some more;)

And they also have sort of the basket full of different crafty old goodies, that is some remaining, last piece etc...and there I found this button....

LOVE it!!!

I've been so happy to catch one flower exhibition in the city where I bought these lovelies, made of wooden sticks, I think

bulke

I have no idea how these should be called in English, but I found them so beautiful in structure, cheap too(1.20$ a piece) and will adorn my dry flowers corner;)
They will look good with my newly made cushions, too. They are made with ikea fabrics;)

I'm so happy because, my oldest baby, Marta is coming home today...she has been with her kindergarten in one of the Serbia's mountain resorts, Tara for one week. I've missed her so much!!!

First day of summer;)

butterfly

Good morning!!!

Depending on the year, summer starts on 20 or 21 June in the Northern Hemisphere, but this year on 20, so today is actually already the second day, but never mind, what better way to start it with a piece of homemade chocolate cake with the strawberry on the top and cappuccino?

Yummyyy!!!Oh, what kind of coffee do you drink???In my country, people like to have different versions of coffee, but living in the house with Italian;), it is quite normal to have Italian kind of coffee;)

Well, the summer is definitely here and kids are already asking when we will be leaving to sea, which is not decided yet, so I'm trying to make them being entertained, either on the our bigger balcony or in some of the close park areas, like Kalemegdan where live many squirrels;) and kids like giving them the nuts:)

I'm trying to jump from one project to another, either doing clothes or accessories .

A few days ago, Katherine was so sweet to feature me on hers lovely blog. Thanks Katherine!!!!

Speaking of accessories, I have some cute new beads to share;)

Aren't they lovely??? I made them with some cute patterned paper (some fabric prints;)

And I'm also into starting to prepare some Christmas stuff,LOL...isn't that a bit absurd-to create stuff for Christmas on the first day of summer???

A bit of everything

I've been recently taking some photos of the beautiful apartment that a friend of mine addapted and transformed into a hostel.

The apartment is situated in the beautiful building with this gorgeous entrance-gate in the Art nouveaux style. The great thing is that it is placed in the center of the Belgrade , just under the Student's park and very close to my house, too;). I'm writing about this because my city will be the host for the upcoming Eurosong 2008 . So, for you living in Europe and interested in coming here for the festival, don't hesitate to contact someone from Yellow bed and ask if there are some beds available;). Very highly recommended, especially for the students!!!

Another big event this week in Belgrade was the Belgrade design week 2008. with so many great guests and events. Some other great exhibitions will be opened this week and can't wait to blog about them, as I'm taking part in one;)

As kids are gone to our getaway place in the country side, I will finally be able to finish my Japanese inspired outfits, that are turning very cute;).

And another one is in jersey fabrics, in shades of turquiose.
My granny was/is very busy preparing me some details....just too cute:o)

Japanese inspired

I'm totally addicted to buying fabrics. A lot. From everywhere:) I like US fabric designers like Anna Maria Horner , Heather Bailey , Sandi Henderson or Joel Dewberry . Than I like European textile brands like Oilily, Room Seven, Bizzkids, Hilco, Stenzo and I mainly shop them here .
But lately, I'm obsessed with Japanese fabrics, crafts etc...and I ordered a few prints from that part of the world too.

Sometimes, I buy them to match certain of my wardrobe favourite pieces

I bought this sakura print in brown to match my Sugar morigami boots. I wanted to make a bag to match...well, still haven't:(

But it is on my to do list;)...like other 1000 things to do,LOL.....it's only that when it comes to sew something for me, I always think that I can do it any other moment, and than that moment hardly arrives.
Being Japanese inspired, I'm also planing to do something sweet and neutral...for kids...using whites, beiges and maybe some pale blues...just as touches. I just love that neutral look of linen used in Japanese crafts
