Aurifil designer of the month

I am so flattered and happy to be featured on the Aurifill blog, as the designer of the month (September).

My Aurifil thread collections: Indelible and Voluminous are great match to my fabrics and you can find them in the craft and quilt shops. You can read more HERE about my Voluminous thread collection.

My task as the designer of the month was to design and make a pattern for the quilt block that was inspired by the color Blue. Be sure to download it!!!
Here's the collage created with my pics, including the blue hues that inspire me.

Be sure to hop to the awesome Pat Sloan's blog and enter your block version for the chance to win some thread!

Hope you can join,
xx Katarina

A few months ago, Art Gallery Fabrics decided to re-brand AGF designer Aurifil boxes to better match the identity of each AGF designer. It's a perfect match to all of my fabric collections and can easily cover all kind of sewing projects from quilts and quilting to clothes and accessories.

Cross stitched rose hoop

The progress made on my #pixelrose #cross-stitch #hoop. Hopefully it will be finished soon☺️ #aurifil #floss #embroidery #craft

During this Xmas period, we were visiting my husband's family in Italy.
It was the great opportunity for me to enjoy some spare time and do some stitchery.
I used my Pixel rose quilt pattern as guide to create this stitched piece.

Aurifil floss matching Recollection

Aurifil floss matching Recollection

I am not sure if I ever shared the stitched banner I did for my Recollection wall (for the Quilt Market in Houston), as that was the opportunity to get all the beautiful matching Aurifil floss.

This #cross #stitching piece is one that took most of my time ( more than quilt making!) and it was left unfinished , just partly done...but I was able to use all of the gorgeous shades of #aurifil #floss and it made me so happy

Here is the corner of the banner, unfinished (it took so much time to stitch and I had to send it over to US), that was the great excuse to attach the gorgeous wooden Aurifloss spools to it.

The image was previously printed on the cloth, and it gave me a good base for the cross stitching.
Hope that you feel inspired:)

Aurifil thread collection - Indelible

I am so proud of this collaboration with the Aurifil, the Italian top thread manufacturer.

aurifil threads The best part of this awesome collaboration is that everything I sewed x the Market was made with it. I totally enjoyed it and it spared me a lot of time, nerves and money thinking about weather I will be able to find the good quality, matching thread for my projects. And even the free motion quilting projects (that I was so afraid to embrace) were a joy!!!

Thank you Aurifil!!!!

And here are some pics of the projects I prepared for the Quilt Market....

What I totally adore about this collection of thread and my Indelible fabric collection is that you can get the perfect vision of the colors used in the fabric collection and choose the matching solids or blenders to play with.

You can choose between the large: 12 spool thread box - (1094 yds each) in 40 WT cotton thread or the small: 10 small spools thread box (164 yds each) in 40 WT cotton thread
And I think, that 40 WT thread is the most versatile one, as you can use it for all your sewing and quilting projects. And the quality? It's the best. Made in Italy ;)
And you can hear what I think about that in this video clip my hubby made...pardon my English and excitement that I just couldn't hide ;)
Unfortunately, the video isn't showing a lot of the Quilt Market, only part of my the Aurifil schoolhouse presentation, the sample spree and the end of the Market, the last seen before we left...but Art Gallery fabrics is preparing the booth coverage ;)
