Soft dolls - recent magazine and blog feature

I am so slow with blogging and adding actual things to my blog. It's just that I have always lack of time and sometimes I even forgot or I think that I've already done something. I hate to see that I'm wrong. And I hate to admit that as well;)

Anyway, about a month (or so) ago, I had such a pleasure to be featured in the Serbian "Roditelj i dete" magazine, where I was featured for the first time about 2 years ago. This time the feature regarded my fabric dolls and toys. Almost about the same time, I was thrilled to be contacted by uber talented Abby Glassenberg - plush pattern designer, craft book author, sewing teacher and blogger behind the blog "While she naps". She wrote a wonderful post about designing softies on Spoonflower and I was so happy that among a few templates she happen to choose to sew among thousands of wonderful cut and sew templates @ Spoonflower, she chose my kawaii ice cream cones and cupcakes play softies food and left a wonderful feedback and suggestions. Especially for that blog post, I created the phases of my creative process and you can see it bellow.











Lately, I also designed the 4 princesses dolls and can't wait to show you the finished, sewn dolls!Another great thing is that localy, here in Belgrade, you can find and purchase my dolls in 2 shops:

Retro robots and dinosaur fabric plush toys

My latest soft toys are finally sewn and I can't be happier with the results:) It takes a lot of time from uploading the design to Spoonflower till receiving the actual fabric, sewing and photographing it. But I love all the process stages (except the long shipping time). However, the moment that fills my heart with joy is when the toy is all finished and when I ask my kids for the opinion and ask them to choose some for themselves.





These robots are quite big, like 40 cm (16") tall and can be also cushions. I have managed to list some in my etsy shop and can't wait to make some more. And there are some Dino toys as well, all settled down already;)
They are created with my original watercolor artwork (that are available as variety of fabrics too) and have very nice, hand drawn texture.

More plushies!!!

Just like with the dolls, I am all addicted to dolls and plushies and have been really enjoying making them lately. Ice cream set is available for sale on Etsy.

 



As I made quite a few of these lately, this upcoming exhibition will come quite handy to have them all exposed (you are all invited, of course:).
























Another great thing about these SF fabric templates is that (as they are so precious to me), I will use every possible inch of it and so I will actually make some scrappy quilt out of the little leftovers.



Feels really great to have someone helping and thinking about the kitchen and real food while I am making the play food:)

Dolls mania

If you remember this blog post, then you will know that this new endeavor will hardly end. It's getting bigger and better and I keep designing new doll styles almost every day.







I am so enjoying this pile of dolls, all the little details, all the little mistakes I made during this process, but what I cherish most is that it's totally MY design and my product-from the drawing till the sewn doll and packaging design -the completed product.







Each week, I am eagerly waiting for the postman to arrive and bring me some new doll templates. It's a long way down the road, as it starts here, it's printed in the USA and the final product is made here again. So, the turnaround takes more than a month, but, I am so happy with the results.







The dolls are printed on the great quality, 100% cotton poplin, stuffed with 100% polyester wadding and are sewn with utmost love and care and special attention to a detail. As far the reactions are great, little girls love them, as much as adults.

Sweet owls

I am so excited about my new addition and addiction-ribbons! It is the beautiful, high quality jacquard ribbon and this is only the test. Can't wait to try the coloured versions and different designs. There are matching fabrics, including even the sew and cut templates-patterns available on Spoonflower.
